    Bad Delivery
    on: January 22, 2023, 11:20:49 pm

So I got my new to me s1000xr delivered on Friday. This is how the bags arrived. I emailed the salesman and the response was "use scratch X on the black" and  he would send me some touch up paint. I emailed him to let him know I was not happy with that response. So I decided to email the owner and send him pics. I asked if he would deliver bags that looked like that? So far crickets from salesman or owner. Now I do realize this is the weekend and they are closed on Mondays. So hopefully I will get some kind of response on Tuesday. What say say you? BTW...I have pics of the bags from showroom, they looked new then. This is from a large BMW dealer on the east coast.

unacceptable!! They need to do better than suggest Scratch X and touch up paint  :013:
Plaster their name all over Social media if they can't do nothing for you

I will. I just hope they do the right thing. I will give them a couple of days and if they don't do anything, I will start by posting the dealership name.

If you paid by credit card you may have some consumer protection? Ask the dealership to send a courier to collect and return them with a full refund? Unless the advertised description stated that the case were marked or damaged ? Either way...very disappointing 😗

Unfortunately paid cash. I saw the bike 3 times and also have pics before buying. There were no scratches before delivery.

if you have pics w/o damage then it looks like they have switched panniers if there is no other damage. Just document it in an email, and ask for very reasonable compenstation. First two services for free or so.  I got my first BMW bike like that, late delivery on car, nonsense explanantion. They left a copy of damage during transport above the sun visor which my wife found. Received a nice discount if i wanted to buy a bike. Side case are going to be scratched, so get the most out of it

Last quote is facts... I stopped caring about them after the very first time I had them on I scraped my left panniers on a gate lock sticking out of a brick wall at a petrol forecourt, nice deep gouge straight across the pristine paint  :159:
As long as they stay on the bike and stay closed they're serving their purpose.

Sorry to disagree with you sir.  You damaged the bags, I didn't. I expect the bags to arrive as I saw them on the showroom floor and as I paid for them.

I think you are absolutely right. You pay an agreed price for a specific item in good shape ...not damaged. We are all different but there is no way I would accept this .....the fact that they may , or may not, get marked in the future is irrelevant.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, this wasn't in relation to your bags showing up as they did, them showing up like that is absolutely unacceptable and I'd seek recourse, however, if given the option between new bags and some other monetary compensation, i'd take the other option. Bags are bound to get damaged eventually, so getting them fixed/replaced only for them to be damaged again would make little sense to me. I'd take free service or partial refund instead.
