    Frame Sliders Worth It?

    2016
    Gen1

I'm sure the crash bars probably offer more protection but would the frame sliders be better than nothing?

    Looking at Puig's, Evotech, R&G's.

That's an absolute definite, resounding yes.

    How do I know?

    Well... See below....

PS: That was an R&G frame slider.

Any damage to the frame ? This slider mounting bolt looks pretty twisted...

None at all, that's the entire point so the bung takes the brunt of it by bending. Small scrapes on the red triangle, barely skin deep and broken indicator, broken clutch perch, small scrape on bar ends, literally all the damage. Not even bent bars. Came off pretty good too, basically a slow speed highside on ice

Did you just do the slider that has the plastic ground down, or did you put on a set?

Trying to figure out what to get... just got my bike 3 weeks ago - 2020... links appreciated!  :)

There are two types of sailors: 1. Those who have run aground and 2. Those who will. Same with bikes. The choice of protection is really a pocketbook question. It becomes a safety question mainly in regard to going down somewhere more remote and being able to pick it up and ride it home. I always put protection on my bikes, so that's my vote, and for these reasons. In my first week of riding I went down and slid across Interstate 5 in downtown Seattle. ATGATT saved me any damage and damn good luck kept me from getting crushed by a car. The bike was rideable because of crash bars that prevented damage to the critical parts.

I bought a set of Evotech frame sliders, super easy to install.

This is the right ones for your 2020:

Of course they are worth it.
Anyone got a spare gear change lever for a Mk 1?  :164:
SW Motech slider did its job pretty well. Minimal damage otherwise.

Looks like it did it's job!  Couple of scratches on the fairing that can be buffed out or touched up.

Do you have anything on the front axles, and I keep seeing a huge slider for the exhaust side...

Trying to decide if I should go with cages (Worldmoto are made of iron) or sliders which don't stand out quite as much.

    Thanks
