Servo Buddy - Changes from 2022 onwards

    Hi All,

I've got a 2023 Gen 2 and just about to go through the 1st Service and fit a servo buddy to sort out the flapper.
Just been on a call with one of the suppliers, and it turns out that BMW have changed the connector for the Servo from around Mid 2022 production onwards. Therefore existing Servo buddies won't be compatible.

I'm awaiting a photo from the company of the servo connector, and will have a look at mine to see what that's like and come back.

Anyone heard of this or fitted a servo buddy to a newer 2023/late 2022 bike?

    Cheers!

Hi - what was the outcome here? Was it a different connector?

I've installed the Healtech servo eliminator on my 2023 XR and it worked fine.  I removed the flapper completely.  No error codes, performance loss and it sounds better in my own opinion.
I've only used Healtech on my other previous bikes but I've never used the Servo Buddy brand.

you dont need servo buddy or healthtec if you are planning to stay with stock header. i have 2022 model and all i did is just disconnect the 2 wires inside and just place back the black cover. the flap by default is open when the bike is OFF. great sound and making burble sound when you downshift on lower speed. no TFT warning.

It won't throw a fault light but "WILL" throw a soft fault code if interrogated by GS-911 or Motoscan.

+1 “soft code” for the win…

I mean the servo eliminator is only 50 dollars. On a 20k+ bike it's not much money to be sure it doesn't throw any codes and it's done correctly.  We're not talking about a KLR or 650 V-strom here.

Believe me when I say, I’m not one of those cheap ass BMW owners. I think I’m up to $35k invested in my ‘21 (farkles + bike) However. I don’t see a need for it if it does not effect the bike.

Yes, when the ‘puter is scanned, it will find a fault. No triangle of death will present itself.

    Just my two cents.

Hey guys, sorry for the delay in writing.

2023 registered bike (built in November 2022 i think).

Servo buddy (healtec) works fine with my bike, I will try to upload a pic but it didnt work last time so i'll try to explain it.

The female side on the bike that gets exposed when you unplug the servoplug has 4 pins number 1,2,3,4. Pins 1,2,3 have a plastic lip whilst pin 4 has no lip.
The servo buddy has a lip on pin 4 (no lip on other pins), so marrys up with the female side on the bike and is fine to plug in.

Healtec said that some of the new s1ks come with a lip on pin 4, so therefore the servobuddy would not fit as the plastic lips would collide.

I can confirm that my bike threw a code (orange triangle of death appeared) as soon as I unplugged the servo to test it and said I needed to take to the shop. Plugging in the servobuddy made everything work fine.

    Cheers

img shows the female side on the bike.

you can see the numbers 1,2,3 - under each pin theres a little triangle plastic lip.
pin 4 does not have a plastic lip.

Healtec servo buddy has a lip on pin 4, and does not have a lip on 1,2,3.

What you need to make sure is that your bike looks like the img, and has a gap on pin 4
