    5k rpm resonance normal?

I get some resonance on my 2016 between 5k-5.5k rpm, mostly in 6th gear under load (going uphill for example).  Sounds like it may be normal for this motor?  Anything else I should check?

Fairly usual, if you get any buzzing it's always there.

Thanks!  I figured it would be.  No real vibes; just a little of that droning noise.  Slightly annoying it's right in that fwy speed range but not the end of the world either.

I was getting & annoyed by that too until I went 1 tooth up in the front. The frwy I travel is 75 mph so 80-85 is the usual speed. I found the XR to be geared too low for "my preference" & riding. Even with an 18 front, I still find it geared low. The resonance / drone is gone however.

This was my first impression as well; gearing seems very short for a "touring" bike.  My Speed RS is geared much taller.  At least the 6th gear should be taller but it's very close to 5th really.

Well as many have pointed out, that is because this isn't a "Touring" bike. The R1250RS is, or the K1200GTs, this is a sportbike that you can strap luggage to.

Yea, not a traditional touring bike but still surprising the gearing is shorter than a naked bike like a Speed Triple RS.  It's a comfortable bike you can do long distance on, so at least 6th gear should be taller for fwy riding.  Of course, no resonance at any rpm is the real solution.
