Bird strike
on: August 01, 2016, 09:42:17 PM
Was riding home on Sunday, through a wee village somewhere south of Dalmeny. There was a seagull fighting with a crow or something for a big chunk of bread roll on the other side of the road. It's only a 30mph and it's a busy wee village street so you're lucky if i was doing 25.

As i get practically next to them, the seagull casually takes off and gracefully swoops round in my direction. It took me half a second to realise i was heading face first for a collision with something who's mum must have been a turkey for the size of this thing.

I ducked and it scuffed along my helmet. The left side of my neck still hurts from jerking so fast :087: Next time it's getting headered  :008:

sounds close glad you hole.

I got hit by a pigeon about 15 years ago and broke my collarbone that stung a little, I was making progress at the time :007: still the pigeon was much MUCH worse off :012:

After over thirty + years behind the bars, there's still lots to do and see.

Coming back from my local BMW dealer and hit a pheasant at about 50mph. Cracked the left fairing and broke one of the clips holding the fairing on. £260 for a replacement. Another £45 if it doesn't come with the decal!! Gutted

I saw loads of pheasants on Saturday when I was out. Stupid bloody things. Managed to miss the suicidal ones!
