    Non-Stock inner bag for panniers

    Hello,

It was a topic several times, but unfortunately I have not found the exact answers.
I would like to buy inner bags to my 2016 stock panniers and I am looking for a cheaper solution than the OEM XR inner bag.

Has somebody tried the Shad inner bag to the OEM pannier?

The other idea to buy an older R1200R OEM inner bag. Maybe does Sb. have experience with it?

    THanks for any answer. :047: :821: :020:

I'm using across gen1 and 2 two dead cheap Nike sportsbags (think brasilia type, but like 15$ each). They fit fairly well. Allows me two fold/roll my clothing into a rectangular shaped bag which can be easily deformed, they are thin nylon. Typically the little space left around it I fill up with other stuff (spare gloves, sandals, light rain gear, and socks which can go in small bags) so the Nike's can stay closed, but have some easy access to those items.

I'm not packaging shoes with clothes anyways, so one Nike is 3/4 full with shoes above it. And typically I don't leave the cases on, I take them off with luggage and all. So I've cut the straps as well leaving maximum space. To open/fill I've gotten into the habit of taking the cases off, laying them on the back, and filling from the top. At least the LH side, as I've taken off the centre stand

Yes, the free space around the inner bags is useful. I use mine as above for shoes, flip flops, tool roll, hi-vis vest, first aid kit, a small can of chain wax, and any quick clothing layers and waterproof gloves for the sudden weather change. the ebay/amazon bags can be opened from both sides -like front and back can be unzipped so no need to take everything out if you know something is at the back, and are zip-expandable. also have zippable small pockets.

I ordered a pair of bags from Kathy's Journey Designs for my gen 1xr a few years ago that I still use. The price has gone up a fair bit but i think they are still cheaper than bmw gear. they are solid bags and seem well built.
