Hi Everyone, Just bought a 2017 S1000XR. I came from a Yamaha MT-07 and wanted something a little more comfortable on longer trips so hoping that I really love this bike.
Just started riding last year and I'm hoping I didn't bite off more than I can chew lol

    Welcome,

The XR is easy to ride so as long as you respect it it'll treat you kindly, a much more capable bike than the MT07 all around and just as fun, I think you'll never look back  :028:

Congrats, you"ll love it.  Any chance you got it in Ottawa and it is matte blue?  Could be mine.
Enjoy and watch your speed at the Forks, grew up there riding it every day and it is closely watched now.
    RIde safe, ride often,
    Pic

I moved from MT07 to S1000XR last year.

Obviously there is a lot more power available to you, but otherwise the change in riding position I really enjoyed.  Being slightly taller I thought the bike would feel top heavy but it doesnt.  In many respects I feel the ride is much smoother as its generally a much better put together machine.

    Enjoy!

Yes there is a lot more power and better riding position for sure and it does have a good turning radius. The only thing I can complain about is the vibration on the handlebar. My hands are tingling after about an hour ride. Ordered some bar end weigths and hopefully that will help.
