    Where to mount Clearwater Lights

I have a 2022 XR with the BMW auxiliary lights. Looking to add some Clearwater Darla's but am struggling where to mount. Was originally going to replace the BMW factory aux lights, but then started considering keeping them and adding the Darlas to the forks like pictured on Clearwater's website. Will keeping the factory lights and adding the Clearwaters on the fork be too much or look bad? Looking for opinions and pictures where others have mounted before I order. Thanks in advance!

Two sets of lights imho is a bit much unless you ride a lot in the middle of Idaho at night plus it just wouldn't look good.

I have the same concern which was why I was looking for other opinions.  I'm leaning towards removing the factory aux lights and mounting them there.  Thank you!

Use the beak kit unless you like your lights vulnerable to road rash.

I think the indicators on the Gen2 are set further back than the Gen1's so not sure if this will work for you, but my second pair of lights are fitted like this, see photos..

Lights are programmed to turn off when I indicate.

Lights are cheapos' from Amazon but this is the 3rd bike they've been fitted to in the passed 6 years so I'm gonna say they are a quality product.

I would, but I haven't seen one offered or any pictures of this kit for the Gen 2.

    Here You Go..

Darla's on the front fender with D73 Mount (https://www.clearwaterlights.com/products/darla-s1000r-rr-xr ). Serve as great driving lights. With the Canbus 5 the Billy brake is a quick install.

    Best,

Do you already have the Darlas lying around from another bike or something?  Not knocking Darlas (I have them on my gen 1), but are they that much better than the BMW factory lights (I have these on my gen 2)?  I like an extra set of driving lights for enhanced visibility during the day, but hardly ever ride after dark anymore since I stopped commuting a few years ago so haven't had a chance to gauge the effectiveness of the BMW factory vs. my old Darlas (plus the factory headlight on the gen 2 is waaaay better than the gen 1 so that might throw off the comparo a bit)..

    Gary,

Thanks for that pic...looks great!  Now you got me thinking about keeping the factory aux lights and doing the fork mount with the Darla's.  I see you have the factory driving lights off in that pic.  At night, do you turn them on for additional lighting?

I had Darla's on my R1200RS and they were amazing...much better than the factory driving lights currently on my XR IMO.
