What can I say? holy sh1t springs to mind. What a great place to visit, very friendly and informal, greeted with a cuppa rosie lea and a smile  :001:

On the dyno this afternoon is this completely stock, 2017 #BMW #S1000XR.
The owner had booked the bike in for ecu re-mapping, switching off the emission controls and fuel mapping on the dyno.
Graph attached 161.15 bhp at the rear wheel with 80.44 torque.

They certainly know what they're talking about, and can back that talk up with real world results. After 3 hours of tinkering, Mark said to me on the way out, give us some feed back in a week or so once you've had time to ride some familiar roads, well, I can honestly say it didn't take that long to feel the improvements, in fact, I was only yards away on the first few round-a-bouts and I could feel the them.

I'd actually had second thoughts on the way down, I was thinking, do I really need to spend money when it feels ok?  :084: OK to me was just what I'd gotten used to, riding around the deficiencies. :012:

I ended up taking the loooong way home, much to the annoyance of my other half, waiting to eat when I got in (oops, soz love  :034:) It's hard to put into words but on a very twisty, familiar road, which it just happens, I'd ridden on Sunday, I decided to make some, err, progress,  :007: Anyway, the bike was so smooth and pulled so strong, I was able to ride as fast as usual but in a higher gear, so I didn't have the feeling the rear tyre was gonna let loose of it's grip, purely because it pulls so well from lower down the rev range.  :305:

30mph in 3rd gear through towns.. lovely.. :028: I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mark and his team to anyone with a wish for their bike to perform as it should do, and not how the bureaucrats in the EU dictate how it should.  :232:  I'm very pleased with the results.

You started talking about it as someone else’s bike?  It’s yours, I take it.

Interesting result though - what sort of cost are we looking at for that?

Sorry, that is a bit misleading, that was their comment on their farcebook page..  :008:

Yes, it's my bike.. it was £420.00 including VAT

By the way he was talking to me about it yesterday, I was surprised how much of an improvement it sounded like it was. Reason is my XR was pretty rough and when I rode his, it felt buttery smooth to me, so if it further improved from that, must be a proper result.

Had mine done at BSD about 18 months ago, and agree fully, what a difference, there is a thread on here about what I did before going , but basically removing all the emissions and noise devices, very happy bunny and no more up and down the box looking for the right gear, pulls great from 30mph in top.
    What could possibly go wrong!!

They're very good numbers for a bike with a stock exhaust... :028:

Proper headers will make it really come alive. A tad more hp to be had.... but it's the "rideability" which makes all the difference.

How does this work? Do you find a shop that does this stuff and just say 'tune it' or do you tell them what you want?

I had a chat with the tech guy, I explained I wasn't chasing HP or top end speed. I wanted smooth throttle response from the off and linier pull through the rev range from as low as possible.  :084:

He mentioned tweaking the throttle at 1,2 & 3% openings in all gears plus a bunch of other stuff I didn't quite understand. I'm gonna say he new what he was talking about though as the result was pretty damn good. Considering I wasn't 100% sure I needed anything doing, it was quite a shock, a pleasant one though..  :001:
