Best step by step repair manual

I don't have one, but am now replacing my stator, and it looks like I'll be removing the fuel tank. I could use the reassurance that I am following the correct disassembly/assembly procedures for these tasks. The Haynes manual looks like the most readily available comprehensive option for me. Anyone use that manual? I'm looking for repair/replacement info, not necessarily standard service items.
Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I use the Haynes manual for my Gen 1 R and Gen 1 XR, pretty helpful for both

Gen-1 or Gen-2..?? You don't say which you have....they are completely different bikes.

If Gen-1 Mark Barrett does a "very good Service Manual" for them, I have it and use it regularly. The Gen-1 Haynes manual is also pretty good.

I'm going to be offering genuine service manuals when I get around to it. I'll update here if I end up getting it done.
