De-Cat Exhaust on Road Trips / Touring

I've got some trips planned for the summer (>1K miles) and the only thing I haven't done to my bike is replace the stock exhaust.

Bren Tune, servo flap modified already.

For those of you who have toured with with a de-catted exhaust, is there any drone?

I wear a Shoei X-14 with ear plugs.

    Thanks for your feedback!

Couple of years ago I took my de catted gen 1 through Portugal and Spain.
3500 miles, it was rather obnoxious, ran rough at slow speed's through rural villages.
When I got home I fitted a standard system and it was a much nicer ride all round.

Swapped it a year later for a gen2, I’m very pleased with that so far, no plans to mess with it other than fitting a SC projects can

Not for me, done many multi day trips, sometimes 400+ miles in a day, never an issue... WITH EARPLUGS... without? Oh god no... With earplugs a decatted XR with stock endcan is just about right where you can enjoy the sound, it's fairly calm at motorway speeds without droning, and insanely fun when getting a move on. Headers + endcan? even with earplugs is too much imo.

You should ride with earplugs anyway, wind noise is the hearing killer regardless of helmet not the exhaust.

Also I have ran it with headers + intake baffle removed, that was too loud when giving it beans, as I said, just headers + stock endcan is about the sweet spot.

I've also done over 20K  touring miles  with a decat and never had an issue. .. with the Bren tune, it runs better than it did stock
With decent ear plugs you won't have any concerns

The biggest thing that can get annoying (and only if you're not in the mood for it) is the crackles from Dynamic when in a bit of a stop and go or "on and off" throttle traffic, but simply knock it to road and they'll stop, though I'm not even sure Gen 2s crackle even with headers.

Ditch the exhaust system and the TUV approved fuelling and you will have a completely bike on your hands.
