New owner of a 2019 s1000xr. Stock exhaust is shite. There's a whole host of end cans I can get on eBay but I want to know if changing just the end can will mean the bike needs tuning, or if this is only the case with a full system replace?

You're good to go with an end can, no tune required... :028:

As Wotshot mentioned, no tune necessary. If you're looking for more/better exhaust noise etc...You may be disappointed, they don't sound much different no matter what muffler you put on it....most of the "mufflering" is done in the cats. You can actually remove the muffler completely and they don't sound much different, maybe a tone change.....If you're after a better looking muffler..have at it.

Something not quite right there....a "stock" Gen-1 XR makes mid 150's at the wheel.

Was gonna say the same, and that is a HUGE dip at 6k for a tuned bike... That should be almost completely gone.

He says " Only M4 end can" . Meaning, not tuned.
And, end can shouldn't do anything, it's just a straight perforated pipe.  But still, it make's around (almost) 150hp, as it should.

Should make well over 150 stock, mine was 154.8 stock, before I fitted Arrow headers. Of course, no two dyno's are the same, no two operators are the same...etc..etc.
