Auto Daytime Running Light not working

Hi, I have a Gen 1 bike with the central DRL strip light. When set in Auto mode, it doesn’t appear to come on. The symbol comes up on the LCD screen and can be switched on and off by clicking the button on the handlebar, but the DRL does not light.

If I set the DRL from Auto to Off in the menus, then I am able to manually switch it on and off, so it clearly works.

Has anyone else come across a similar problem? Anyone got any ideas before I ask the dealer to take a look.

Other than a fault, the only thing I can think of to check is that the daylight sensor isn’t being blocked by something.

It doesn’t take much shade for it to switch on to dipped beam, which of course, it’s supposed to do. Assuming as well that you are checking it outside in daylight, not in a garage or something… :034:

Hope it’s an easy fix for you… :028:

Thanks for that. Sorry to be a bit dim, but do you know where the sensor is located?
