    Hi guys,
    I bought myself and elite turtle 2 vest and they say to mount the harness cord underneat the seat towards the front ( where the seat meets the tank ). Problem is and can't find any tubular frame or anything strong there to attach the cord to.Anyone else has did this? if so where do you attach your cord?
    Thanks
    Dan

    I attached the tether for my Helite Turtle 2 under the rear tank mounting flange as shown below;

    Hopefully you haven't had the chance to test it out but is that gonna be okay there? That's a fairly flimsy part and the vest's cord needs a fair old pull. I'd be tempted to look for something a bit more secure.

    This mounting point is very sturdy and can certainly trigger the vest.

    I "tested" it as few weeks after I installed the tether. I stalled the bike in a half completed turn when pulling away at a green light and the bike tipped over. As I was rolling off the bike I thought to myself that this was a good opportunity to see how the vest works. Before I touched the pavement the vest had fully inflated, making me look like the Michelin man. I hardly needed the vest in this instance, but I could tell that my fall was softened by the vest.

    Probably as much as anyone should want to "test" out the vest haha, fair enough, my concerns withdrawn  :028:

    I also ride with a Turtle and am glad you are alright! Kind of jealous you got that test as I've never had mine deploy, fortunately. Hope your bike had only minor scratches. My XR has a stainless bracket that attaches where the tank mounts are that was intended to hold the strap for the BMW tank bag. I use it for my Turtle strap. No doubt it will withstand the tug of the strap!
