Past 3 tyre sets were continental road attack 3's and did around 7000 miles each set. Last set thought I'd have a change with Pirelli diablo rosso II's......2500 miles later they're goosed...nice tyre but jeez...next set are back to road attack 3's

Rosso 2, 3 & 4 are very soft compared to the Conti's....not surprised you only got 2500 miles out of them.

Conti Road Attack 3's & 4's are a very good "All-round" tyre IMHO.

True and plenty enough traction for very spirited street riding... that said I just finished of a set of Road attack 4s on my 1290 in just about 3900 miles... will have to put on another rear and then try a road 5 set to get a benchmark, the CRA4 is very good but have no baseline for expected mileage.

My experience is similar, and I think you'll find Road5 very equal to RA4, had two sets of each, although RA3. I had Rosso3 and SA too, less than 2000mls out of them. But that was with bike on trailer, 90% alps /dolomites / pyrenees roads. I think these softer tires wear also much faster fast on the older, worn, rough surface roads. And it's a waste of money to use them on motorways

Curious what you think of the Conti RA 4’s. I have on the Road 5’s at the moment and I’m having mixed feelings. I get an easy 20% TC intervention on my spirited commute and easily max out the little graph with spirited riding. They also feel “greasy” on an extended spirited ride. However, I’ve never lost traction in an uncontrollable manner. I have about 1,500 miles on them and they are about 1/3 worn, which is good for me.

I have the Conti RA4’s high on my list for my next tire.
