Hi there! I am RjR, a late 20-something-year-old with a 20+ year riding background across a bunch of disciplines and I'm checking in from SoCal with my new 2023 S1000XR Triple Black. I've had the bike for a little under a month now, clocking about 1000 miles to date. I'd reckon I'm at about 70% twisties and 30% commuting (either to work or to the twisties  :018:) and the bike has yet to disappoint.

The intention was to have a do-all bike: I commute 200 miles a week, ride the canyons, am starting to explore some longer touring options, and very crucially, ride two-up through a lot of that. So far all of those boxes have been checked and then some, especially as this is my first ever new bike. I was doing all of the above on a 2000 SV650 prior to, and while the SV is an amazing machine, going from not even having a fuel gauge to the tech of the XR has been a welcome addition to our riding life.

I've only added the top case post-purchase as I picked up the bike as a pretty decked-out demo that somehow only had 5 miles on it (and I've ridden the rest!). Have a few changes/upgrades in mind for the bike including the windscreen, integrated fender-eliminator kit (when somewhat more attainable), tank sliders, and tank grips. Open to suggestions on the above!

Thanks for reading and please comment below if you're in SoCal!

    Rubber side down,
    RjR

Also, not sure if this is allowed, but I have a few other bikes I'm getting ready to sell of the Supermoto variety (2018 DR-Z 400SM and a 2008 Aprilia 750 Dorsoduro). DM me with inquires and please tell me if solicitation is a no-go, I will edit the post.

Nice looking bike. I'm not in Cali but Welcome in. Yes this is a do all bike for me. I've had mine a little over a year and I still smile like crazy when I get on it. Long trips, short hauls, track days. Yep Do all. Again welcome.
