I skived off to play with my new AC DC current clamp. Testing AC was easy but testing something meaty and DC, only thing i could come up with was a starter motor.
The s1000xr is the fastest starting engine i've seen. Feels like it's almost instantaneous when you hit the starter button. I measured how many rotations of the crankshaft it takes to catch.

I clearly canny work my chinese scope so the screenshot turned out to be of a clipped view! The peak inrush current was 400amps. The 4 spikes at 5.5secs are each cylinder's compression stroke. The ghosty spike at 2.5secs is the fuel pump - 125amps inrush seems high to me but around 6amps running at 3 secs seems fair.
