    Import duties/taxes

Looking to buy an air bag vest and think the Furygan one would be suitable.
The vest is £380 in the UK but have found one for £280 inc shipping from spain.
The website states "In the United Kingdom, all our prices are inclusive of VAT, which currently stands at a 20% standard rate."
and "Will I be asked to pay additional VAT or duty charges upon receiving my parcel in the United Kingdom? No, the price on our website will be the final cost to you. There will be no additional VAT or duty charges requested on delivery by our carriers. We have done all we can to prepare for Brexit in the best way possible to offer the best experience for the customer."

Thoughts?  Anyone ordered anything from Motardinn.com ?   The other EU sites state you may have to pay further duties shipping to the UK.

Simple enough to screencap that, buy it and if anything to the contrary happens, just shove it back in their faces, and if not, then happy days!

I have no experience of Motardinn but my mate ordered a full akropovik exhaust system for his yamaha from Louis-Moto. Their website has a similar statement about them settling the VAT and also refunding any customs duties incurred. When his exhaust arrived he was hit with a bill for customs duty so he called Louis-Moto and they were true to their word refunding him all the extra costs. He saved a few quid by using them over any supplier in the UK.
At the end of the day if you do end up paying a customs fee and they don't refund it I suspect it will still be cheaper (or at least no more) than buying it in the UK so you shouldn't loose anything.

Thanks guys.  Still chewing on it as motardinn have some really crap reviews regarding customer service.

I did email them about customs charges etc and they did state the price I see is the price I pay.

Can attest regarding customer service, utter sh#t, ordered $NZ 450 worth of gear from them in Nov 2022 and it was tracked, sent buy NL Post for some reason, I guessed that's where the warehouse is maybe, arrived into NZ Xmas Eve never to be seen again, NZ Post declared it as lost so agreement between them and NL Post is that I get refund from Motardinn, only just got refund 2 weeks ago after dozens of emails etc, I'll never use them again no matter how good the saving is

Since the UK bailed out of the EU,I’ve either been imported legit into the UK or I’ve got friends to bring back what ever I was after in hand luggage and that included both Europe and the US wanted a DNA air filter for my KTM.GT,paid via the usual and had it posted to a private address in the US,but there’s one thing for sure pay for it yourself and try to bring it into the UK vis normal channels you Will be paying import duty no matter what.
