Hi,
I have an issue lately on my S1000xr 2020. I've bought the bike from BMW as a second hand. I have 7000 miles on it and when I spend like 40 minutes in London traffic or at a really hot day I hear a creaking noise from the rear while stepping off the bike. I have pushed the rear size up and down and that's when the noise is really loud.
I have taken it to BMW but they could not replicate the noise. They did a warranty claim on the rear shock which took me by surprise as I've been thinking that it could be one of the bushings causing this while contracting due to the heat.
Needless to say the bike started doing the noise again the day before yesterday which was a really hot day here in London.
What I tried is placing a screwdriver in any connection i could see and found out that the bottom screw where the rear shock sits was really vibrating while i was pushing the rear side down (photo attached). While cold the screw was not vibrating the screwdriver. BMW told me that they replaced that screw together with the shock but they told me to take the bike back in.
Has anyone experienced the same issue?
