So what will happen if you change from 190/55-17 to 200/55-17 on the rear. Any advantages or disadvantages?

I have a Dunlop Roadsmart IV 190/55/17 on the rear of mine, it's actually 203mm wide when fitted on the rim.

I've also had a Michelin Power 5 200/55/17 on it and it was only 198mm wide... :027:

Makes little to no difference TBH....Also doesn't affect the ABS or traction control.

The only difference I see, is it might make it turn harder, since you're putting wider tire on same wheel, makes the tire less curvy, and more flat.  :027:

The thing is...the 200 I fitted previously isn't any wider than the "normal" 190 I have on now.. I find the Pirelli's are close to advertised sizes. I have an Energica Experia with Pirelli Scorpion Trail II's on at the moment, stock size is 180/55/17 and it's close at 181mm across.

Some 190's are actually 190mm...but not many in my experience....The Dunlop Roadsmart IV 190/55 is a good example at over 200mm on a stock XR rim.

A lot depends on the make and model of tyre I suspect.
