I know this will sound really silly - but - I have completely forgotten what the sequence of the dash display takes when first turning on the IGN -  :187:

Gen 1 machine - So what is happening is this: I turn the IGN on and the first thing that is displayed is 'Service May 2024' - this shows for about 3 seconds then disappears and the usual display then come on.

Is that the correct sequence? - or should it not display the 'service May 2024' at all and go straight to the 'usual riding' display?

I'll be getting on the wrong bike next!!!! :745:

I think your sequence is fine! it is going to irritate you a lot more next May when the "Service Due...." stays on the screen covering your engine temperature and other alerts!!

You shouldn't have a "service" reminder for May 2024. It should only show about a month before it's due.
Below, extract from the Owners Manual. Hope this helps...

If service is overdue, the due date or the odometer reading at which service was due is accompanied by the 'General' warning light showing yellow.
If the service is overdue, a yellow CC message is displayed. Exclamation marks also draw your attention to the displays for service, service appointment
and remaining distance in the MY VEHICLE and SERVICE REQUIREMENTS menu screens.
    NOTICE
If the service-due indicator appears more than a month before the service date, the current date has to be corrected. This situation can occur if the battery was disconnected.
Life always offers you a second chance... it's called "Tomorrow"...

Great - that's what's happening as I had the battery disconnected when I was fitting the Innovv dash cam - so the service indication when I first turn on the ignition 'shouldn't' be there.

I will reset the date and hopefully that ill sort it.
