    Plug change
    on: July 18, 2023, 09:20:57 am

Had the spark plugs changed yesterday on my 2017 bike by an independent guy.
When I collected it the check engine light was on & “Engine” was illuminated. He doesn’t have the software to read it. Is there an easy fix to this? Or will it need plugging in??
Thanks in advance for any info

Will need either Motoscan or GS911 plugged in. If it's an unrelated issue light should go out on its own if the issue is fixed but you won't know until you plug in what it is.

since the bike was pretty much stripped down to get to the plugs my guess is that something was plugged in incorrectly. A common suspect for this is the IAT and 1 of the upper injectors being connected incorrectly

Can the IAT & upper injector plugs be mixed up & connected wrongly??
Or might one just have not been reconnected?

They are the same plug but the OE routing makes it obvious which plugs where it's sort of an arrangement like below:

         _

    I  I  I  I

All lines are the same plug, the bottom 4 are the injectors.

    Top is IAT

If incorrectly connected or not connected, it would be running like a pig...on three cylinders.

not until you hit 8000 rpm when  the upper injectors kick in, again speaking from experience!
