GP shift (reverse shift) gears on XR 2023

Next week I will hopefully become the new owner of s1000xr :) but I have a big problem. I got used to shifting gears reverse way (1st gear up and all other down). BMW dealer informed me that it is not possible to change the way of shifting gears from road mode to gp mode :(

It is not easy to have two bikes with different ways of shifting gears. This might be a problem even from a security standpoint if you miss a gear and shift down instead of up for example or vice versa.

I am now almost desperate by trying to find the solution for reverse shifting (gp shift) on s1000xr 2023.

Is there any solution to this problem?

I think you can get the "M Rearsets" but it looks like you can flip the shift linkage the traditional way, although might run into clearance issues.

Just had a look at mine, hardly enough room to work the conventional way,and the bad news I’d rate the rearsets the best mod of the lot.

I think OP is getting a Gen 2, different shift rod set up
