    Hi All,

    Got this off my GS-911.
    Fault Code Value:0x21F900
Code Description:Adaptation of idle control, idle adaptation requirement for throttle valve too high.

    Bmw S1000XR,2016 with 17500 km.
Bike had been sitting for 5 months with half a tank of gas and the battery disconnected.
After starting, the bike has a fluctuating idle.
If holding steady throttle, he surges in all gear.
    Things i do so far:

    Oil change and filter
    Air filter
    Clean throttle body
    Clean fuel injectors
    Change spark plugs
    Reset all adaptations with GS-911

    Sorry for my English.

    Help will be highly appreciated.

Found this doing a quick online search... Looks like you might have to clean the throttle valve system due to build up of contaminants.

This appears to be due to possibly bad fuel, but more likely by the engine not getting run at the higher end of the spectrum and only covering cold, short distances at low speed...

    Hope this helps  :084:

    Thanks Serge, for the reply.

I do clean the throttle body; I didn't remove it, just gave it a good clean on the spot.
What else is there to clean beside the throttle body?
Do i have to remove the throttle body to go deeper?

As per instructions on first attachment...

Remove contaminated valves and soak in brake cleaner 2. Remove contamination with a soft sponge 3. If there is also contamination on the valve seat, remove this carefully using a soft sponge.

    Serge,
Is it possible to clean valves without removing them?
I'm using Mark Barrett's service manual.

as you disconnected the battery I am wondering if the bike has lost some memory settings and just needs an "Italian Tune up" to get some data to work out the best settings.

on most vehicles the best thing to do is just drive it, as it will go through additional calibration steps.
