Cobrra states I need to send it back to them so they can inspect it, but I have to cover shipping... Strange when they just confirmed that the unit is faulty but they do not want to take care of it under warranty.

They are telling me they have seen too many units that come back and just need cleaning. I explained how this unit is only a couple of weeks old and shouldn't need to be cleaned, especially since I bought the oil that they sold on their website.

However, I will give them benefit of the doubt and clean the unit since it's dirty.

Honestly, pretty upsetting this is how they are handling it... First world problems I guess...

Totally disappointed in this company. After testing the valve, I have confirmed that the valve is stuck open and continues to leak way after the 3 minutes that is advertised.

I reached out to Gary on Oct 19th to let him know of the issue and have yet to receive a reply. I am not asking them to replace the whole unit, just a new seal kit with valve....

I expect this from a copy cat company that sells stuff on Amazon/eBay, not the actual company that states they are "better" than the others.

Giving them another email before I stop caring...

Called and talked to them directly. They sent out a replacement seal kit ASAP to address the issue.

Glad they stand behind their product!

Have you guys ever looked at this product: https://pdoiler.co.uk/?

It is wired to the ignition and dispenses oil onto the chain automatically using a solenoid valve. You can adjust the flow rate but, once it is set, you never have to touch it again. And you can completely hide it within the bike's frame or under the seat.

I have been using one of these for about 20 years. I have never had to adjust a chain, lubricate a chain or even think about my chain in all that time. Admittedly, I do very low miles, but it really makes for a totally maintenance-free chain. (And - yes - the one thing I do do is check for chain wear, but there really isn't any - certainly none between services).

I fitted the PD Oiler to mine. Seemed to me to be the best solution. Works great as it doesn't suffer from temperature differences. The supply tube is quite tiny as well which is much tidier than the Scotoiler.
Fitting to the Gen 2 for any of them is a bit of a pain.
I had the electronic Scottoiler on the Gen 1 XR and it was forever needing priming before a journey. Never really worked properly at all.

Mounting the tube and nib to the Gen 2 was a right pain. I thought about it for ages before I eventually made an expandable fitting to go into the 16mm wheel axle hole. That way, the oil is going onto the edge of the sprocket right by the chain like an original Scottoiler does.
The unit itself is mounted inside the side pod (fairing) by the seat. Very tight but goes in when the tracker mount plastic part is removed. The control box is under the seat and therefore close to the dispenser unit.

I am glad to report back that my Nemo 2 oiler work awesome on my Honda NC 750X DCT. It work as promised (clean and nead no spill on back wheel when applying on speeds below 70 km/h) and I am considering one for my XR as well. Currently spraying Bell Ray Super clean on the XR which is great as well.

Wow, I wish I would have seen this setup before I bought my Nemo 2!

Do you guys have any pictures of the actual mounting and routing of supply tube on a XR? Also, how did you guys wire it? To the license plate light?

No photos - sorry. It has been installed most recently on my RR, which I have now sold. I collect my new XR tomorrow and will fit it soon. Currently, the unit is in a box.

On the RR, the main unit / reservoir was simply cable tied to the rear subframe lower bar (you could hardly see it at all as it is black and quite small and narrow) and the controller was installed under the seat (it regulates the flow). The feed tube is maybe only 3mm diameter (1/8") and the went from the main unit down to the swing arm near the front pivot and then along the inside of the swing arm to discharge oil onto the lower chain run just before the chain meets the rear sprocket. Under the seat, the unit was wired to a relay that switched on when the bike ignition was turned on - I just picked up a 12V feed for the ignition straight from the fusebox.

What you have described is exactly how my home made electronic oiler works, has been on my Gen-1 XR for 6 years now and still works fine.
