    That's it.
11 days, early start Monday set off 4am.

    Change tyres and brake pads at weekend ready . . . . . . .

Suppose should decide where to go . . . . . . . . or maybe just see how I feel when I get off the other side  :305:

steer clear of the Pyrenees in the 2nd half of your trip as it is La Vuelta cycle race, starting in Barcelona then heading for Andorra from 26 Aug

weather forecast seems great. I'd go to the Pyrenees or Dolomites. Given the bicycle thing the Dolomites.. Hotel Evaldo in Arabba does often  a 7 nights half pension for price of 6. And the good roads start as soon as you leave the parking in 3 directions...Good price vs quality and often also UK car clubs there, porsche, M3 etc. Been there a few times. Owner speaks fluent english, german, and italian. Free  garage for bikes. Given the  hail storms they had last month a covered parking is a becoming a mandatory thing.. If someone has another address let me know. For me it's just under 600mls so very doable

Cheers for the heads up, but looking at it they only go across as far over as Andorra then head down, be easy to miss it, Pyrenees early then over to Picos and back by France Alps. This is one I idea, other is Dolimites via Germany and Austria and maybe into Slovenia . . . . . . .

Cheers for the recommendation, Don't do motorways so will take a few days to get Dolomites if go that way. Have messaged for a price on 2 nights stay. Normally move on each day but could do 2 night if lots of good roads nearby

ok these hotels in that area typically do a good price for minimum 4 nights stay. If you stay only one or two nights you pay more. I paid €750 for 7 nights half pension, single use of double room. Suits my requirements. I like to come come back after a day's trip, take sauna and pool, a pint or two and not having to mess with luggage and reservations

I can highly recommend the road from St Jean Pied de Port to Vielha in Spain. D918/D618 Goes across the high French passes and just across the border. Then go back west across the N260 in Spain, turn right near Jaca and up to Canfranc Station and on to Pau then head back home via Tarn Gorge, Massif Central.
Let me know if you want some hotel recommendations.

Indeed another good option. The N260 and all roads around are great, and you do not want to go thru Andorra. Traffic jams and police inspections on non VAT goods

Half pension is breakfast and dinner right?  Not a bloke like Antares' age that is halfway there or something?
