    2022 OBD Port access?

Do I need to take off the plastic body work under the seat under your left thigh?  That seems a bit more than I'd expect to do just to access the port.  I can see the port and it looks like its attached somehow but can't get it lose to plug in an OBD reader.  The owner's manual just says to take it to a BMW authorized mechanic and doesn't provide any information about how to access it.

You have to squeeze two little catches either end of the connector to release it. It's just docked in a mating "bucket" to keep it water tight, the connector has a seal around it.

Jip you press hard on the sides of the OBD port then the 2 clips will release and you can pull the port out. You only need to remove the seat and not any panels

Thanks all.  This worked.  Raised more questions than answers.  Will open another thread for the details...
