    Proper rattle - any thoughts?

    Hi,

Video link below. Started a few weeks ago on startup and is really bad when cold. Gets better as bike warms up but wondered if anyone had experienced before.

Doesn't sound like a rattle to me, but a blowing exhaust manifold - which would indeed be worse when cold and lessen (or disappear) when warmed through.  Been there.  Got the badge (albeit with a car).

    Interesting!  :084:
Bike had headers put on so wonder if they've come loose. Will go check!
    Thanks

Apart from the puffing, it sounds incredible! Very nice

Does the rattle increase in speed when you give it some throttle?

Thanks! Black widow headers with standard muffler. Was going to get aftermarket can but I don't feel it needs it.

You sir were spot on! Took it apart over the weekend and found a single header nut had backed off. Tightened up and no more noise. Thanks!

Excellent!  I am glad it is sorted and you can now enjoy your great sounding XR!  Thanks for closing the loop - not just for me, but for anyone finding this thread in the future.
