MIVV low level fitment- Heat Shield
« on: August 23, 2016, 08:26:57 PM »
I've fitted a Mivv can, Low level fitment, as I need to retain the pillion foot rests.
I'm happy enough with the looks etc. but not happy at all with the absence of a Heat Shield, burned my lower calf whilst wearing shorts and manoeuvring between garden furniture.....yes, really!
It brought home to me just how serious it would be if you had a limb trapped underneath the bike in the event of an 'off'
There does not appear to be a Mivv shield sold for the SXR.
Anybody else have this problem? I realise most have gone for the high fitment.
Any suggestions, please.
It may be possible to bodge the oe shield, I have not had time to look in detail yet.

Funny you should say that because I'm not one for riding my bike in my shorts :002: but my old 955 Tiger has a heat guard which lets me have my toe on the footpeg and my heel resting on the guard which really works for big mileage days so hopefully they or a.n. other will do one.

I think this apples to the vast majority of bikes, particularly after market cans.
Just another hazard we unsung heroes face. :046:
