Haynes or Chilton manuals
« on: August 25, 2016, 02:19:56 PM »
Hello all,
I know I am probably premature on this, but does anyone know of when any aftermarket shop manual  - Chilton, Haynes or anyone else - will publish one for our XR?  I have always bought used bikes and a shop manual has always been available.  Just wondering.

If it's any use, the BMW manual is available from the dealer. It comes on a DVD for around 70 notes I think.

I've not seen that manual so no idea if it's any good. The car version from BMW is good so I'd imagine the bike one will be similar.

There are printed workshop manuals available too, at least in America but I imagine here too. They are eye wateringly expensive though - £650 for the set I think!

Hi All
Sorry to drag up an old post but thought I'd share this from Haynes

https://haynes.com/en-gb/bmw-s1000rrr-xr-10-17-haynes-repair-manual

Looks like we will have a full manual for all '15-'17 models in December.
I know I'll be preordering mine. I seem to remember the Haynes manuals for any vehicle to be the best out there. If anyone has come across other sources please share as I'm keen to get my hands on a decent service and maintenance manual.

This thread talks about a manual i just purchased - not a shop manual but has everything you need to service the bike
