So next Wednesday my XR and all riding gear will be collected from my home then transported and stored at Focussed Events super secure unit at Spains Almeria race circuit. Included with their winter fly and ride package is 5 nights B&B in a beach front hotel in Mojacar and then you can choose to have your bike shipped back to you house or decide to leave it fully insured for as many future trips as you like.

£1000 gets you the return door to door bike transport to their unit and 5 nights B&B and onward insured winter storage. All flights are at your expense along with any additional hotel stays at a discounted rate via Focussed Events.

I'm going with a couple of mates who have done this for the last 3 years and I've decided to join them this year having had a weeks riding in Andalucia in February this year.

So the flights are booked and we'll be off first flight Friday 3rd November, bring on the silky smooth traffic free tarmac and blue sky sunshine.

Will keep you posted on how it goes and maybe a funky 360 video as well. :002: :001: :152:

Sounds good value BUT not having my bike for a month prior and how ever long after it takes to get back . . . . . . . . . . . . . .No thanks.

I'm still thinking vanning the bike down there over Xmas, Would cost about the same for diesel/Chunnel as your trip, plus digs, but no flights to pay out for and can stay as long as I want. Obviously a big enough van and 2 bikes sharing the cost is even more economical . . . . . .

Be interested on your feed back when you come back on how the company deal with the import situation,as your mates have done before there must be a plan but my info today said it can be tricky.

FE will be used to the Carnets by now transporting bikes for TD's (or at least who ever transport co. they use will)

I've seen a thread or 2 lately on bikes being damaged in transit with TD transport companies, thoughts are mostly Illegals getting into the trailers and climbing over the bikes, rummaging through bags etc. Not too common but can happen

Another option - (not compulsory - won't suit everyone  :015:)

Ride to Spain for a couple of weeks touring to France/Portugal/Spain - Leave your bike and gear with these guys, and fly home.

Return by air - a month or so later for a second holiday, and ride the bike home again at the end.

Of course - you are bikeless in UK in between - unless you have a second bike.

And for a "winter" trip the riding there and back would not be great

No it wouldn't - I should have mentioned "Ferry" in there as an option for winter.

It was just a suggestion which some might find useful.    :015:

The other option would be just to do what I’m doing and get cheap flights as many times as you like and fully explore all that Andalucia has to offer. Having my own business means I can go numerous times when the weather is at its best right the through to March next year, plus I never ride my bike during our winter months.
Of course I’ll keep you posted with all the “POSITVE” good stuff along the way 😜🤙🏼🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞
    Cheers,
    Charlie Spiceboy.
