Bmw handle bar and foot peg vibrations
« on: August 26, 2016, 08:14:39 PM »
I have tried fitting Cymarc vibration reducing bar ends as recommended in mcm a few weeks ago. I have also fitted grip puppies to the handlebars and h and p rear sets. this still does not seem to have cured the vibration. I have spoken to bmw and they are still in denial that there is a problem. Bmw suggested all the above but I am still stuck with vibrating handle bars. Has anyone managed to cure this or has anyone complained to customer services to resolve this problem. Would welcome any feedback or better still a cure.

How old is your bike ? Mine is Feb 2016 build I put cymarc bars on it is fine.  It will vibrate a bit tho given it revs to what 12k, but there are no nasty patches in the rev range.

I put HVMP bar ends on mine.  Problem fixed.

Suggest you try them.

HVMP are very popular and seem to do the job, but at a premium in UK. £117 last I looked
I'm lucky, mine's a 2015 model with virtually no vibration problem.

Hi

I road tested two demo bikes and they both buzzed. A friend of mine also road tested two demo bikes and they buzzed. Both of us then bought brand new April 2016 bikes and they vibrated from new to 4,000 mainly in the 5-6,000 rpm range which is 70 mph on a motorway. It does clear at 85 but you run the risk of a speeding ticket then!!

Mine had a slight 'murmur' at 5200-5400 revs but I've since added cymarc bar ends and taken it up to 3000 miles and that murmur has gone.

It's still quite a vibey bike but that's 4 cyl bikes for ya, higher revs.

How many miles are you on? What bike did u have before?

£45 quid bar ends sorted mine out, fuuny though when I got the bike in April it was vib free, went if for its first service at 600 miles and I noticed a difference straight away.
Truthfully I couldn't be arsed faffin about with BMW so I got some bar ends, not a bother anymore.
The bikes a beast and needs leathering all the time, get the engine to bed into the frame..well that's my defence at court anyway !!
