Should come up fairly easily in 1st and even 2nd a bit without doing anything, check you're in Dynamics Pro riding mode. Apart from that check your gearing has not been lengthened, a 42T rear sprocket is a common mod that certainly wouldn't help wheelies, though should still be able to do it.

Check your setting, should wheelie without a lot of provocation.

:0461:....although mine still comes up pretty easily in 1st & 2nd....even with a 42t rear sprocket.....it does have full headers and a Rapid Bike Evo module though. With the stock 45t on the rear it will wheelie off the throttle in 3rd.

Something sounds off..I literally cannot keep the front down in 1st and 2nd from power alone, and 3rd is sketchy..like if I come off a rise in the road just right with too much throttle, it will loft the wheel without warning.

Im 180 dressed and have stock gearing, but I am tuned

    Likewise...but I'm a tad lighter @ 165lbs or 75kgs. Maybe 176lbs or 80kgs dressed to ride.

Same...I'm around the same size as you guys and both my gen 1 and gen 2 loft when hard on the gas in 1st and 2nd (usually in Dynamic or Dynamic Pro).  3rd and 4th can be fun too if you hit some undulations in the road.  Don't think I have tried 5th or 6th...where I ride I can't get going that fast usually.

You can't teach pigs to sing - it only frustrates you and annoys the pig.

Doing wheelies is something I've never done and I didn't grow up dirt biking or anything where I could learn skills on softer materials! I'm rather frightened by the prospect of getting the front wheel up and then either losing balance and going sideways or coming down with the front wheel not quite straight and having trouble. I realize everyone and their brother has a video about doing it and they make it look easy but I've never really tried too hard.

What I know is that on my XR, I can give it full throttle from a rolling speed of 10-20 in first gear in Dynamic Pro and it doesn't just pop up off the ground. The front end gets light, for sure, but I'm not up in the air. But I weigh 205 lbs and with gear, am at 215lbs. I've tried it in second too. I don't know if I need to be at higher RPM to get that higher HP, but it doesn't just pop up off the ground when given full twist.

In any case, I'd like to do it sometime just to see what it's like, but have never been disappointed by the acceleration of my XR or Concours 14 or FJR or Caponord 1200 or Tracer 900. They all took off just fine, with the XR being fastest. The Tracer 900 was probably the most eager to spin up, with that triple engine famous for a reason, but didn't have the top end of the XR. When riding today, I had to seriously question what I would ever do with the extra 20 Hp of the MXR. But I'm rather insatiable when it comes to acceleration.
2016 XR with full Akra, 26,000 and counting.
We sit together, the mountain and me, until only the mountain remains.

You'd be surprised how much your body is unconsciously fighting a wheelie if you're wary of them and don't intentionally try to do them. I'm living through a bit of a knob phase right now with wheelies, I have an MT09 in my possession and that thing can ONLY do wheelies. Honestly on the XR I didn't do much if any, almost all my "wheelies" on the XR were off of crests, and I think that's the best way to start getting used to them. If you have a straight bit of road with a crest on it, a little more throttle each time and hold the throttle, as long as you don't add throttle coming off the crest it's a physical impossibility for you to flip over, once you get comfortably with having the front wheel of the ground, and even encouraging it, it'll become much less daunting. I wish I could go back to my XR with my current skills because that bike is absolutely a weapon at doing wheelies, proven enough by a mate that can do nice wheelies on his Multistrada 1260 but a bit rough, then hopped on my XR and immediately pulled a solid 10 second wheelie first try.

Disclaimer though, is obviously don't be a knob about wheelies, time and place for everything, I pushed those boundaries and whilst I didn't do anything "unsafe" (as much as wheelies can be) I still got bitten by some miserable sod sending in dash cam footage to the plod... fortunately only a course and no points but tempt fate at the wrong time, you'll eventually get bitten.
