    Temporarily hide the service warning

    Hi All,

Apologies if this is already explained somewhere (I did use the search feature multiple times).

I recently bought a well looked after 2016 S1000XR and the dealer that sold it to me showed me a way to temporarily hide the service warning by going into one of the submenus. I watched this happen in front of me when I collected the bike. Obviously if you cut the ignition and start the bike up again the warning was still there. I called the dealer back up and spoke to the workshop and unfortunately they can't remember how to do it without the controls in front of them; "something to do with the clock menu, not sure mate, sorry".

Before I fork out for an OBDLink LX to properly reset it myself, I'd like to try and work out if this is something you are aware of? As not being able to see the temperatue gauge is slightly frustrating.

    Thanks in advance.

I've heard sometimes setting the system date prior to when the bike was built can have this effect....but I've not tried it and it won't be a permanent fix. You'll still need to do it properly via GS-911 or Motoscan.

You'll need the OBDLink LX/MX OBD dongle and a round 10 pin to OBD port cable in your case with it being a 2016 Euro-3.
