    Replace plugs

So I had my valves done by a local BMW shop. I asked them to replace the plugs as well. They didn’t. My friend is the service manager and he gave me a great deal on the price. I don’t want to make an issue out of it so I’m going to do it myself. If I remove what normally is removed to do valves EXCEPT THE FUELING PARTS will I be able to get to the coils and plugs to remove them?

Nope... idk why they wouldn't change the spark plugs when they are already in there, i'd most certainly be asking questions... it's stupid not to... thing is, depending on when you did this clearance check, plugs are probably perfectly fine and don't actually need replacing...

Waited till 30k miles to have valves done. They were all in spec. Long story why they didn’t replace plugs but they didn’t ….so, plugs have 31k on them and need to be replaced. Just want to know if I have to pull injectors, fuel rail, etc. I have the maintenance guide from the guy in England giving you the step by step but unclear about the fueling parts if just replacing plugs.

fairings, gas tank, airbox (this requires loosening the upper injector rail) and that should give you access to the coils/plugs. only sticky point is the clamps on the bottom of the airbox(to the inlet/butterflies, many suggest replacing with s/s jubilee clips( worm clips)

31k is honestly genuinely fine for those plugs, I'd bet serious money they're perfect deer brown.

If you aren't willing to wait until the next time you're inside for valves or something else, then sadly everything has to come off, injectors, rail etc etc. Maybe not fully disconnected, but out of the way for sure. Indeed. It's all tightly on top of the valve cover and you aren't getting to it unless everything is removed.

I replaced the plugs. Just the air box needs to come off, well, plus everything to get to it. But primary injectors can stay on.
