    Hi guys

my new vinyls (why does this word look so wrong, I had to google how to spell it and it still looks wrong lol) just arrived but I am unsure about application and I absolutely know that I will balls it up , especially looking at the chinese instructions.

Anyone used these and can help a man out?  :763:

Don't overthink it....some vinyl adhesive stickers are quite thick and reasonably stiff when cold and a little heat from a hair dryer can help keep them "pliable" if the surfaces they are being applied to have compound curves or contours.

Clean the area the stickers are to be applied to with isopropyl alcohol and a lint free cloth to make sure any dirt, dust, wax or polish residue is removed, the sticker adhesive doesn't stick to waxes or polishes very well and will often lift off after a short time if the surface isn't clean. Once clean and before the proper fitting, I find it best to offer the sticker up where you want it and put a few position marks with a non-permanent marker on the area prior to the "real" fitting so I get them in the correct place...as repositioning them after fitting is near impossible and will look pants if not right.

Once fitted in position, keep a "little heat" into the sticker with a hair dryer and use the edge of a credit card covered with a cotton rag to smooth out any possible wrinkles or residual air bubbles trapped underneath and you should be good to go...the rag will stop the edge of the credit card from scratching the vinyl.

Once the stickers are finally fitted, a quick wipe with alcohol will remove your positioning marks and your spotty fingerprints etc....

Surface preparation and taking your time is the key....do it right the first time.

Be sure to show us the results.

I followed the process in this video, and it worked out well. For larger areas it helps to have a second set of hands. Start with something small to practice.

I ordered the below sticker application kit from amazon that had some squeegees covered in felt which came in handy.

Huge thanks to you both, especially the suggestion for using a marker. What a difference that made!! Used a white board marker which comes off no issues. The vinyls are more like rubber pads and I wanted to cover up all the scuff marks on the base one where it joins the seat.

    Some before and after pics.
