Rider helmet connects to "pillion" first by default sometimes?

I ride my Gen 2 XR one up and have my Schuberth C4 Pro with SC1 Advance paired to the rider connection. 

Mostly it works...  But sometimes the bike pairs my helmet to the pillion/rider 2 connection which of course means I don't have full functionality at the front!  Once it has done this you can't always re-connect it to Rider 1 without switching everything off and starting again .

I never paired my helmet to the pillion connection so it is a bit weird - any suggestions on now to proactively stop it pairing to the wrong connection?

It just be me then:-) Had other work done on the bike that required an updated version of software, this deletes all connections, so I have reconnected my helmet to the rider slot, lets see if it works consistently again!  Peter
