My last dumb question for the month: changing engine modes
on:
August 31, 2016, 01:22:55 AM
I noticed when on the move I can't just hit the mode button and go from Dynamic to Road for example, I need to shut the throttle off and pull in the clutch. I thought you could do this on the go, the book isn't very clear. Am I doing something wrong or....stupid?
Lay it on me.

The owner's manual was clear when I read it. Sorry.

Could I trouble you for your interpretation?

Hi Ant. "There are no 'dumb questions'. Just supercilious answers occasionally, I believe sometimes people would rather discuss a matter, on a friendly site, than trawl though an instruction tome.

Indeed.....no such thing as dumb questions.
You can change engine modes underway, just select the new mode and close the throttle.
For the suspension, just select the new mode - closing the throttle is not necessary.

Page 57 says "The newly selected riding mode is activated as you ride only when the following preconditions are satisfied: - The throttle twistgrip is in the idle position." Maybe my two years of high school German helped. Glad that it's sorted.
