New guy from Canada

Hi fella's, First post here, I just picked up a new 2023 BMW S1000XR in triple black (Traded in my 2017 Africa Twin).
I have a few questions, which I'll post in the appropriate forum.
Unfortunately I haven't even ridden my new bike yet. got her home from the dealership (enclosed trailer) right as the snow hit us at the start of our winter. I may get lucky this week and see a day with 10 degrees C so my get to try her out.
I have a set of GIVI radiator & Oil Cooler guards to put on before I venture out.
Im a bit of a bike nut, I call myself a collector, my wife says I'm a hoarder. The difference between the Collector and Hoarder is the illusion of organization. I currently have about 20 bikes in my collection, all nicely presented and well organized. I spend the long, cold & snowy Canadian winters building and restoring old bikes, and spend my summers riding and doing a bit of farming (I'm happily retired from corporate work life).
I expect the BMW to be radically different to the Africa Twin, im looking forward to the experience.
Thanks for having me here.

Welcome to the fray! I had a 2016 AT for about 5 years.

Thanks for the welcome guys.
As requested, I added some pics to the gallery.
Here is the new S1000XR, pic taken at the dealership
Here is my other daily rider, 2014 Valkyrie 1800 F6C:
a few pics of the hoard:
1986 Honda NS400R
2007 Aprilia RSV Factory Dark Lion
Valentino Rossi R1
2012 KTM RC8R
this is just one example of my restoration work, bare frame restoration of a 1990 Kawasaki ZX7
This is my next project - revive this really sorry looking GSXR750. Its shagged out in every possible way.
I have a youtube channel that I started last year where I document things as I fumble and bumble my through the restorations. I'm not a mechanic by trade, I'm not a paint and body guy ether, just a guy enjoying my retirement in the workshop and trying to do the best I can. It won't let me post a link here for some reason but the channel is called "True-Moto-Resto"

^^ this. That NS400 is nuts.. Good on you for taking care of all those treasures. Once I get beyond 2 or 3 bikes I start to lose my mind keeping up with all the maintenance.

Thanks guys.
Maintenance isn't too bad since there are a large number of these that are not ridden regularly (road riding insurance here is astronomically expensive). Its somewhat sad that they don't get ridden much, but such is life. Its usually an annual one day event to do fuel changes and running the bikes through 2 heat cycles. I use ethanol free fuel, but some of my recent restorations are stored dry. Mostly I prefer to run the bikes every 6 -12 months just so I don't have stale fuel (even ethanol free + stabil) sitting in the injectors.
I just keep a Maintenance /Fuel and Run log so I know what was done when.
The Rossi R1 and the NS400R are definitely 2 of my favourite bikes
