2016 do the micro switch suppose to touch the clutch lever or is the suppose to be a small gap? the up shift is not working at all down shifts some of the time. cruise works.

When the clutch is out the microswitch is supposed to be fully pushed in by the clutch, as you pull the clutch in the it releases the microswitch

going to have to take a closer look to see which one is which. initially it looks like both are pressed when you squeeze the clutch. so hopefully its just a minor adjustment.

Do a google search for photos, and a Youtube search for videos - possibly easier to get close details of what they are meant to look like

the switches on the R and the RR are the same, I believe.

turns out there is a bypass plate that lets you bypass the QS micro switch. tried it and still doesn't work. also recalibrated the transmission and still does not work. clutchless up shifts work fine obviously down shift doesn't work. anyone know how to test the quick shifter connected to the pedal?

if the bike feel on its left side could that haven't bent it so it wouldn't work? looks straight.

Seen somewhere wear and wind pressure (if like me you don't have the hand covers) might cause the switch to be activated. To find out put fingers inside and push the lever out during the shift? Some aftermarket levers might not have the notches correct causing problems too. I have aftermarket short levers on my gen2 and it works fine. But I do most downshifts manually. I way prefer to have manual control over the slipping clutch

not wind related I've checked that. was working fine last summer when i rode the bike. now it does not work.

logic says that when you move the shield thing to the bypass position and the quick shifter still doesn't work then its the switch.
seems that maybe there might be some oxidation on the internals of the switch. will have to take off and look inside.

more likely some gunk slowing down the actuation and a spray of contact cleaner might do the job
