Rear indicator/brake light

Can anyone advise on the method to gain access to the connectors for the rear indicators please.  I damaged the mounting of one of these, and have a replacement.  The connector seems to be located close to the seat lock, but gaining access seems to require dismantling the whole rear end of the bike?
