Can anyone recommend a good Independent who can service my Gen 2 S1000XR

    I live in South Hertfordshire.

Its coming up to 10,000 miles and needs its 36 month service.
I dont really want to go to the dealer as its out of warranty.

If it's just a simple/ordinary service...it's not much more than a glorified oil & filter change....do it yourself. The 18,000 mile service is the big one.

    Smithy.

ok, that's easy to do the 10,000 service.

I was More worried about the big one. I believed, probably wrongly now, that it was a time thing, not a mileage.

Useful to know someone who is not too far from here.

Willing to travel 100 miles from Watford.

I was under the impression it was 6,000, 12,000 & 18,000 miles when the services are due...or every 12 months...whichever comes first....so yes, it is time and/or mileage.

Wasn't aware of a 10,000 mile service on the XR's.

    Smithy.

sounds like he is having annual services, with the 3 year service needing to be done at 10,000 miles as stated in the original post

semantics, but he needs a service at 10,000 miles, not a 10,000 mile service

It's fine servicing it at home, but how do you reset the service indicator? It would get on my nerves being on between services.

    That's good to hear considering they're £300!  :008:

    Care to elaborate?

Have a look around plenty of info,

Long and short: motoscan + ucsi 2100 or obdlink lx/mx

    Total cost: about 80 quid.

As Antares said, Motoscan app + OBDlink and OBD adaptor cable is required, sound investment if keeping bike
