    Quick shifter replacement

I think my quick shifter solenoid is bad. Have tried at tested the switch on the handle bar and it good. Clutch lever is adjusted properly and fresh oil. still not working. try to upshift and its like pulling on lock in place lever, same for the downshift. Does anyone know how to test the solenoid? will try cleaning it tommrow just to make sure good connections.

Is there a aftermarket quick shifter for the XR? has to be cheaper than the stock unit which is $910. Guess I could go used form eBay but that seems questionable.

It's a simple contact switch inside the QS, just disconnect the plug and test for continuity on the up and down shifts, its possible a bit of corrosion crept in or something of the like. My mate had a bad QS on his CB650R, same deal switch was bad, instead of shelling out 250 quid for another one, simply replaced the £4 switch inside, job done.

To test the switches you only need to get to the plug

Im told that if you do re-calibration and you get voltage that the switch is good.
sprayed the shaft with break cleaner to see if would do anything. on my way home last night that upshift got easier. so tried a upshift while on the throttle and it was working. down shift still don't work though.
