    Not what you are directly looking for, but I have just bought an Optimate Quad Four Premium for my XR, which has a lithium battery. The Optimate has the BMW CanBus connector as part of the package. It offers more functions than the original BMW item and can also be used to reawaken a lithium battery that has shut down via the BMS (as happened on my XR only 1 month from new). Widely available for £100.

    I would go for a Noco Genius 1 and connect it directly to the battery.  Much cheaper than a Canbus charger and you can also connect a compressor or heated vest to the same connection without worrying about Canbus errors.
