Removing Nav cradle AND the bar mount.
« on: September 19, 2016, 06:08:29 PM »
I have no plans to ever use or mount a GPS. Has anyone removed the cradle AND bar mount that comes with the XR nav prep unit? Removing the cradle and wiring harness appears to be a piece of cake. My concern is how to remove the bar mount that the cradle attaches to. Just looking at it removing the four rubber nut covers and the nuts themselves seems doable but I'm concerned as to what the four nuts are screwed to and what happens to the screws which are covered by the plastic cover. Do they remain static so you can screw the nuts back on and replace the rubber nut covers OR do they fall down into the plastic cover somewhere only to rattle around the rest of my ownership?

I've done searching to see if anyone else has posed this question to no avail.
