Hello all!
I love my XR! I'll be posting photos and opinions of upgrades soon!

Hi Jaybee, welcome. It is a wonderous beast. Tad warmer there than here. Enjoy! What did you ride previously?

I'm fortunate to own many dirt bikes (I'm a former desert racer) and recently purchased a 2015 R1200RT for long distance fun. I have yet to make the XR comfortable enough for anything much past 150 miles. I've raised the bars & lowered the pegs, but I am working with a gent in Arizona (
www.kontourseat.com
) to help me create a longer distance seat. Ron (the owner) created my R1200RT seat and did a fantastic job
. I have tried Bill Mayer, Russel Day long, Corbin, Sargent and Saddleman (2 different versions) on the RT. None hold a candle to the Kontour. I will have Ron add 1" in height and I will lower the XR by the same amount using Soupy's lowering kit and dropping the stanchions 10 mil. I will photograph all and post when done. I have also acquired a Akropovic header and will mate it to a all carbon Remus Hexacone, but won't install until an expert informs me where and how to remap properly!
