Hi From North Yorkshire
on:

Hello from my hospital bed.
Not much to do over the last 3 weeks except look for my next bike and next years trip with my Brother and Cousin.
The BMW range hasn't really been on my radar until now, wow looks like they have a winner here and one that could very easly take me away from the Austrians that I've owned many of over that last 12 years, when I get through this I'll be making my way down to the dealer to get myself a test ride.
No sympathy please as I've a positive mind and a good way through my leukaemia treatment
I picture myself test riding one of these in the new year.
Thinking of buying new so what should I be looking out for, mainly be used for Euro trips and a bit of B road scratching 4000 miles a year max
That's my introduction and be great to hear comments
Keith

Thanks for the heads up, good to know there are dealers out there that could give discounts when you're spending that sort of money.
Got a of mate in Brighton so could work out well when I'm ready

Marshalls in Grimsby are also keen on price
As for the dog cock red ones ( that is the official BMW paint code) they are for the slow group

Great that's another one to try.
Looks like there's a civil war about colour choice

Welcome Keith. I'm in awe of your positive attitude
It's not really a civil war. There are those of us who have the fast XR's and there's those who misguidedly bought red ones

Lightning's struck twice in my household, 13 years ago my wife went through the same treatment and she's still by my side and very happy for me to treat myself in the New Year despite she's not one bit interested in riding on the back.

From my experience motorcycles can be a great life jacket when it comes to the sea of life that's for sure, but if your used to the Orange bikes then I'd certainly try a GT as well as an XR they are the difference between three two's and two three's but the end game is the same just how you get there.

Hi KeithA, welcome.
You'll have to report on your test ride. I'm sure you'll love it.
Keep positive about the treatment, it's hard work as I'm sure you know. My C is back again after three years, spine and liver, can't bend forward much so swapped my GS for an XR, last hooligan spree on an upright bike. Gotta play the cards we're dealt, no good moaning
