XR Sport SE for sale
« on: November 12, 2016, 12:02:53 AM »
Right folks, time for a change, so I'm selling my bike. I've had an offer from my dealer, but would rather sell as is, as the bike is PERFECTLY set up, and it would be a travesty to return it to stock.

June 2015 Sport SE
Full Akrapovic
Hilltop remap (163bhp at the rear wheel)
Evotech rad guards
Cymarc Bar end weights
Wunderlich extended rear mudguard
Wheel tape
Small pillion grab handles
Large luggage rack & pannier rails
BMW tinted screen
Lockable sat nav mount
Cruise control
Gear shift assist pro
Hp levers
Hp rearsets
Hp sport seat
Carbon tank panels
Bar risers
HID headlight upgrade on dip/ main

7500 miles (ish!), £12950 with everything left on, or £11500 back to stock (which I really don't want to do!).

I've been all around France on this bike, Wales, Scotland, and all over the UK. My average day is around 200-300 miles, and the bike is all day comfortable, now that I've set it up perfectly. As to vibrations; this bike doesn't have them. Or not that I can notice anyway! With the bar end weights, and the fact that it was run in properly, the much talked about vibes are virtually non existent. A bike copper mate rode it a few weeks ago, and his first comment was "where are all the vibes that everyone's talking about?"

This bike is freakin' awesome, and is all you'll ever need. I'm going in a different direction, so it's time to sell. I'll consider a sensible offer, but don't be silly!

I've got LOADS of pictures, so PM me if you want more!

I do. It's an awesome bike. But I fancy a change, and my licence needs a rest! I'm in no hurry to sell, so if it doesn't go for the price I want for it, I'll keep it.

Someone is going to get an absolute bargain here though, once you look at how much all the extras cost.

I reckon more bikes are bought/sold because we fancy a change. That's the best reason in the world.

What do you fancy Rich?

Absolutely! I've been offered a good deal on the new R9T urban GS, and still have loads to do to our new house, so this could be a good solution.

They look lovely, best styling on a bike for years.  BMW designers must be eating 3 Shredded Wheat.

I've not seen it in the flesh yet, but in the pictures it's grown on me. I went to look at the BMW scrambler today, which was very nice, in a back to basics way.

Will I regret selling the XR? Probably! I was out on it today, and it's the only bike that still makes me laugh out loud every time I ride it! I know I'll regret selling this bike, but will let fate decide. If someone wants the best set up XR in the UK, here it is!

I'll wait to see the Urban at my dealer, then will put a deposit down. Then, when it arrives in March, I'll either trade the XR in, if it hasn't sold privately by then, or may even keep it, as I have a few irons in the fire at the moment. We'll see.
