Not on the XR but tried a set on my old GSA

Look at the Metzler Roadtec 01 as they are superb

I have the Angle's on my bike.  Love them!  I have 2500 miles on them and still have plenty of wear left.  Great traction in all weather.  I have used these on some psudo-track days on the XR and they were great as well (I have a GSXR1000 for the track, the XR is great but wrong configuation for most track days).

You won't go wrong with the Angel GT's, I've used them on my previous ZX10r and now on the XR.

Good wear on the rear around 4500-5000 miles, depends on your wrist action of course.

A perfect all rounder, quick to warm up, drops into corners easily, good in the wet, reasonably priced etc.....
I'd go again when ready.

Hope this helps.   :305: :028:
Cheers,

Yep just put a new one on the rear. I do like the Roadtec 01s but would have wasted the front Angel if I had changed them now. So will wait until they both need changing then its onto the 01s. Nothing wrong with the Angels at all. But I do have a very slight preference for the Metzler.

First two sets of tyres were the Rosso III's and they were pretty good however now on Angel Gt's and what a difference - they let the bike roll into a corner all nice and predictable, have great grip in the wet and dry and instil loads of confidence. Like all choices it's individual preference, for me its the Angels over the 01's but need to try the new P5's.... :155:

Hi guys,
After 15800km I'm done with second set of Rosso's (one set Rosso II which came with the bike, one set Rosso III). On both sets fronts were ok go with but I really don't like the idea of slippage from the front tire and afraid of it. I'm looking for Angel GT's for better milage now. But there are 3 variations according to Pirelli web set. Any one of you tried them ? One more thing looking at the Pirelli web site I saw that new Angel GT II is coming or just released, do any of you have experience on the new Angel GT II's ? Should I wait for them ( by the way I didn't like the looks oft the new Angel Gt II)

I'd say for the GT on the XR you'll want the standard tyre, ie no (A) or (D) versions. Those are for heavy bombers.

With the GT II it looks like they're wanting to shift more water....
