Had the anti vibration kit fitted by the dealer today (Blade in Birmingham UK). Although not severe vibrations prior to fitting, but definitely much better after the refit with no significant vibrations or mirror blur at any rev speed. Definitely recommended. Blade also adjusted and lubed the chain FOC and inspected the bike - great service.  :047:

Ordered an new XR as well - arriving in March and trading mine in  :001:

Finally got a response from the supplying dealer who I asked that as the was over 135 miles away if the parts could be sent to me and ill do it myself,  they said that as part of the retrofit campaign the work must be done by a dealer to be free of charge, I replied asking if I could buy the parts and what the cost would be as the time it will take to go back there with fuel etc may outway the cost of the parts, This is the email response I got

 Hi rob,

Steve has asked me to find out the costs of these parts that are on the warranty campaign for the BMW S1000XR due to vibrations
Being felt at certain speeds
BMW have found that by using rubber mountings for the handlebars the vibrations are reduced
The kit consists of 2 x rubber mountings which retail at £ 2.35 each   and   2 x nuts at £ 1.20 each.

Think ill just order them and do it myself for the sake of £7.10 !!

Mines is all done. The dealer collected the bike and returned it in the van.
Great service from John Clark in Dundee.

Amazing Feeb
All that for £7.10 worth of retail parts !!
you would have thought they would have jumped at the chance of not having to do the work and me doing it myself  but hey ho LOL

Today went to the dealer and they retrofitted the anti vibes modification . Advised by service manager to keep the evotech performance bar ends . The ride is very smooth , can not notice much difference as my bike was not too vibe yet. As I gesture of good will I was offered 10% next service . It Took mechanic some time to do it as they only modified few bikes. The 2017 model was available for a test ride .

Mine was collected by the dealer today, so they'll fit the new parts and deliver the bike back later in the week.

My local dealer (Lind in Welwyn Garden City) have confirmed that the retrofit can be done. My XR is in hibernation for now (using the GS at the moment) so I will get it done in due course.
